Contessa's 2009!
The 21st annual Canadian Hairstylist of the Year Awards—The Contessas—were held at the Sheraton Centre,where over1,500 hairstylists gathered in Toronto.to support their peers. This year, at the 2009 Contessa's on Novemer 1, 2090, VALENTINO'S was in top 5 multi-cultural finialist in Canada, Over 130 individual and team finalists competed in 24 categories, from Elite Master Hairstylist of the Year to Salon Business Excellence.
Violin sensation,Dr. Draw opened the night with a rousing performance and helped introduce the gala's theme, colour. This was followed by an introduction walk-out by the finalists and a presentation from cancer support organization Look Good Feel Better.
Following a hearty dinner, emcee Bill Rowley took his perch on stage to keep the crowd entertained. The community service award was handed out and the Allied Beauty Association presented its New Talent competition winners from various 2009 ABA shows across Canada.
To kick off the rest of the awards presentation, the Team 2Xtreme martial arts troupe burst onto the stage. From there, the night's honours were presented and interspersed with stage presentations. Celebrating jewel tones was Schwarzkopf Professional, Matrix showed us its twist on pastels and Joico did funky neon.
