Liam's Fight for Sight is a fundraiser event for Liam Kristopher Reid who was born on Thursday, June 18, 2009 with PHPV, a congenital eye condition, leaving him blind in both eyes. But, there is hope! An experiemental procedure in the United States (and not funded by OHIP) can give Liam a chance at sight. On Monday, March 22nd, 2010 Valentino's will be sponsoring an event that will feature a Fashion Show, Silent Auction, Musical Entertainment and h'orderves that will all raise money to support Liam's surgeries. Come out and support this cause! Tickets are available at the Salon.

Angel Hair is a program of A Child's Voice Foundation that provides wigs and hair loss solutions to financially disadvantaged children who have lost their hair due to a medical condition or treatment. Using hair that is generously donated to the program, Angel Hair for kids can create wigs and hair systems and provide them to children in need at no cost to their families. In the three years that this program has been running it has provided over 150 wig systems to children at no cost to their families.

World Vision is a relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice all over the world. For the past four years the salon has been dedicated to sponsoring a child through this organization.

Hearth Place is a support centre where cancer patients and their families can come and share their experiences, find resources and discover new ways to care for themselves and each other. As a drop-in centre in the comfort of a homelike atmosphere, Hearth Place is committed to providing community support for patients and their families dealing with cancer. We offer peer support, information, a resource centre, wellness programs and an ongoing lecture and discussion series.

Relay for Life is organized by the Canadian Cancer Society. The Relay for Life is more than just a fundraiser. It is an opportunity to get together with family and friends and celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease. We have participated in this fun and fulfilling fundraiser to help the Canadian Cancer Society's cause of eradicating cancer.
