Where is parking available?
Parking is available for 50 cents per hour directly across from the salon, behind the Old Whitby Fire Hall, in a municipal parking lot. After 6:00 pm and on weekends and holidays parking is free.
How far in advance should I book my appointment?
This depends on the stylist you choose and the day and time you would like to come in. Evening and Saturday appointments are filled more quickly than weekday appointments. We recommend pre-booking your next appointment at check-out before leaving the salon, or booking your appointment online.
How far in advance should I arrive before my appointment?
In order to maximize your appointment time, we recommend that you arrive approximately fifteen minutes prior to your appointment.
How much notice is needed to cancel my appointment?
Valentino's Grande Salon requires 24 hours notice for any cancelled appointments. Please advise the Salon immediately if you must cancel or reschedule an appointment to avoid a short notice cancellation fee.
How do I leave gratuity for my services?
Valentino's welcomes you to leave any gratuities in our designated tip box located just beneath the staircase.
Can I add the tip on my credit card?
Yes, you can add it to your credit card or give cash directly to your stylist or technician's tip box.
What should I wear?
We suggest you wear suitable clothing based on your services. Avoid wearing turtle necks or bulky tops when having a chemical service. If you are having a specialty style be sure to wear a button up shirt. You will be given a smock upon arrival to protect clothing. Valentino's will not be held responsible for any damaged clothing or personal articles during any procedure.
Why are there different prices for different stylists?
We have a wide variety of price levels to accommodate everyone's pocket book. We have a skill certification / education program that all of our stylists and technicians progress through. As their skill, experience, and demand increase, they are promoted to the next price level.
What is Valentino's policy about children, cell phones, and pagers?
In order to maintain a peaceful and relaxing environment, we kindly request that children without an appointment remain at home, and that all cell phones and pagers be turned off.
How can I get the hair style you gave me at home?
Your appointment is also an education, so please feel free to ask us about techniques, products you can use to get the best results, and your cut. We're happy to answer any questions so that you can keep up your look from home!
My hair is dry and has split ends, how can I make it look better?
The best solution for broken and split hair is a cut. To maintain healthy looking hair we recommend using our Biominoil Treatment on damp hair, then blow-drying and quickly smoothing any bothersome ends with a straightening iron for a silky smooth look.
How can I book my appointments online?
At your first visit to Valentino's Grande Salon, you will be given a login name and password. There is a complete list of instructions and a help line available when booking online at www.valentinos.ca. If you forget your password, you can email the salon from the online booking page.
